Journey stores only what the app needs to work. This page describes exactly what that is and what happens to it.
What we store
- Account — your name, email address, and avatar from Google sign-in.
- Trips — trip details, itineraries, journals, check-ins, and the photos/videos you upload (stored in cloud blob storage).
- Location— check-in coordinates you submit, and live-location pings only while you have sharing turned on during a trip’s dates. Pings are pruned after use.
- Social tokens — if you connect a social account, its access token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and used only to post what you explicitly share. Disconnecting deletes the token.
- Waitlist — if you join the waitlist on our home page, we store your email address and the date you joined. We use it only to tell you when Journey opens up, and we never send you anything else. Email info@spinachcreations.com to be removed.
What we don’t do
Journey does not sell data, run ads, or share your content with anyone except the people you invite to a trip or the platforms you explicitly post to. AI features (photo tagging, trip summaries) send content to Anthropic for processing when you trigger them.
Deleting your data
Deleting a trip deletes its content. You can permanently delete your account and everything in it from your profile page at any time.
